Oil Paint on Paper

All of these monoprints are oil paint on unprimed paper. I do my printing as I mix my palette of oil colors for my painting projects. The "plates" for these prints are sheets of cellophane, which had originally served as palette covers, and then as markmaking tools on my paintings. Finally, when the pigment and oil density is suitable, the cellophane is printed onto paper. Shown here is a small selection from several different series of prints.
